Stepping Into Stepping Up

Spirit’s message for this period of time has been pretty clear and consistent. “Step up Dubois” they say to me. “Push through the discomfort, and shine. Stop hiding, stop staying small. Stop bringing yourself down. Please start and continue believing in yourself. Make necessary changes that align with your own personal values and continue taking action steps towards your dreams and goals.”
Stepping up in this context refers simply to just being yourself. Your authentic self. Who you are as a soul and what you’re here to explore based on things you are passionate, excited and interested in.
One of the greatest challenges we as humans face is the societal matrix that we were born into. For those just beginning on their spiritual awakenings and journeys, I will briefly explain what I mean by societal matrix. From the moment you were born, unless your parents lived off the grid, you’ve been subjected to the indoctrination from the patriarchal powers, trying to control humanity, society, the citizens. As a baby, you are compared and measured to others and follow along a developmental milestones checklist all through school. We now see more children not fitting into the structure of the school system.
Then there are other societal pressures placed on us through generational beliefs from the system in place. Whether that be to go to post secondary, get a job with steady pay and security so that one day you might be able to retire and enjoy your life. Whether you like it or not. Bonus points if you actually do. Then there’s the question of whether to couple up or not. The decision to have a family or not. As much as this is an individual decision, over the years, families have become more and more involved with our personal choices on how we want to live our life.
What if that’s not how we wanted to do it? What if there are other things in life that interest us? What if our goal here is to just simply discover ourselves?
Discover our likes and dislikes, the things that spark our soul, the things that help us heal through any past traumas and hurts. What if life is just a discovery of self, and then, when we can properly do so, we can help guide others to finding out what that is for them as well.
So what does stepping up mean, when we are referring to being ourselves? It means doing the things that we feel are right for us. Not in a selfish way, not in a manner that is an intentional way of bringing someone down, but always just what is in our own best interest. Whether parents, partners, the government or other trusted authority figures, the option of discernment is always available to you, and asking the question, what feels best for you? It’s something that you can feel.
What if your family wants you to have children, but you don’t see that for yourself? Maybe you would rather put the time and effort into yourself and creating a successful business and happy life? You aligning to your own personal truth against what others may think, is being authentic and stepping into it. Knowing what is best for you and letting others know is one of the greatest life lessons that we will continue to learn. The more that you lean into what is best for you, not what other people think you should be doing, it gets easier.
Here’s why stepping up is so important right now, when you go against the grain, your family, and usually your own limiting beliefs, in pursuit of your desires, whatever it may be, you, undoubtedly inspire those around you. When you are in alignment, with who you are meant to be, when you are happy and joyful and feeling connected to either yourself, the divine, or loved ones around you, you radiate and emanate an energy that is so vibrant people will be drawn to you, the realness, the vibrancy, here to do? inspiring them to be unblocked, unbothered and authentic in their own lives. To follow their hopes and dreams and to break free of the people and things that say they can’t. Because we all can.
Could you imagine how amazing the world would be if we all did what was in alignment with what we were. Imagine a world where its inhabitants were happy and at peace, content with just being and living, simply and connected.I know it’s not easy, breaking free of old beliefs, family traditions and values, public opinion and a world not conducive to comfort and peace of mind at all times.
There is so much in front of us to distract us from even paying attention to how we might feel unfulfilled, disconnected, how are we not fully engaging in life due to the sheer busyness and the buffet of things to do, accomplish, or distract ourselves with. I remember feeling discontent, growing up, that this was life. It was confusing to me as to what we were doing here, and why. There had to be more than just the daily grind of just living.
Upon awakening to spirituality, I discovered the bigger purpose was to learn, explore, and grow as a soul in this human body. There was so much peace in that moment of realization, because there was so much more. Thank God. While having no religious connections in my life and very minor in my upbringing, I do believe in a higher power, whether the universe, God, source, whatever you feel, I thank them, because they brought me a sense of purpose that was what I needed at the time.
Upon that discovery led me to finding that shining my light brightly helps others shine theirs. I feel like the more people that I can connect to that in turn helps them further develop their connection, then the more people they can help further develop their connection, Then we are all finding our way in this world as we intend it to be. Honestly, the fate of humanity, and this planet lies in each and every one of us, waking up, stepping up, and spreading love, not fear, not judgment, but abundance, community, and connection and showing up for yourself and those around you in a way that best represents who you really are.
Wishing you happy discovery of self and sending you all the strength and support to help guide you along as you courageously move forward, just being you, beautiful you.
